With the box office success of Transformers, Hasbro has decided to turned another of it’s lucrative 80’s properties into a feature length live-action film. No Bill; sorry not My Little Pony.

In a world threatened by Cobra a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule. The army’s of the worlds nations crumble; chaos and destruction reign. Who will save the day? Enter: G.I. Joe. America’s highly trained special missions force. It’s purpose? To defend human freedom. While I highly doubt we’ll get the flag waving “America saves the day” outing that was the cartoon series the first couple of still images prove extremely promising.

Above and below are images of G.I. Joe’s mute ninja; Snake-Eyes. This dude was childhood favorite and who got to “be” Snake-Eyes turned into a fight more than once (now I just play alone: problem solved). Ray Parks of Star Wars and X-Men fame will be playing the silent role in the Stephen Sommers film due August 2009.
